Language Courses

At Mujeres Pa’lante, we believe that one of the best ways to integrate oneself into the host society is to speak the local language or languages. We recognise the value of understanding Catalan and being familiar with the culture, traditions and places of interest of Catalonia, especially concerning Barcelona and L’Hospitalet. In this way we encourage a meeting between cultures. This training is carried out through an agreement with the Consorci per a la Normalització Lingüística of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and we have the support of the same institution in Barcelona.

• Catalan Courses: We offer 45-hour s courses in Basic Catalan—classes 2 days a week in the evenings. At the end of the course students will receive official accreditation from Consorci per a la Normalització Lingüística de Catalunya.
  
  
• Spanish Courses: Aimed at those who do not speak Spanish, they are designed to consolidate the ability to communicate comfortably in daily conversation. Classes are given twice a week in the evenings. For both Spanish and Catalan courses, we are looking into extending the timetable to include weekend classes.
  
  
• English Courses: We are collaborating with the Barcelona Women’s Network to offer courses in basic English, with native teachers from the United States and Britain. The course consists of 30 hours and classes take place one evening and one morning during the week.
